Ginger is a medicinal plant that belongs to Zingiberaceae family and originates from South-East Asia. The Arabs considered it an aphrodisiac, while the ancient Indians used it in physical and spiritual purification. Ginger contains mostly water, but it is also composed of sugars, carbohydrates, proteins and dietary fibre. It contains minerals like calcium, phosphor, sodium, potassium, magnesium, zinc and copper, as well as vitamins C, B1, B2, B5, B6, E and J.

Take one teaspoon ginger juice and add one teaspoon honey in it. Mix it well and warm it little. Take it daily and your cough will gone in seven days. Both honey and ginger have their individual health benefits and the combination provides additional uses. It is also believed that a mixture of honey and ginger along with black pepper is capable of treating or reducing the effect of asthma.
For more severe constipation, a preparation of ginger and flax seeds will be effective: 1 tablespoon of powdered ginger with 2 tablespoons of flax seeds simmered in 2 cups of water for 15 minutes. This mixture can be sweetened with honey if desired. It should be taken in 1/2 cup doses as necessary.
For Headaches And Migraines:
To relieve headaches and migraines, a little ginger can be missed with flour and water to form a paste. Massage this paste onto the temples. This paste can be applied anywhere there is pain to provide gentle relief. It is useful as a milder and quicker alternative to a poultice.
For nausea And Vomiting:
Ginger is effective remedy for treating or preventing nausea, dizziness, and vomiting caused by travel or motion sickness. Pregnant women can also use it, it has no side effects. One of the effective ways to cure vomiting would be to have ginger tea. Make sure it has less amount of sugar.
For Indigestion And Gas:
Relieve gas, indigestion and nausea by eating up to 4g of fresh ginger root a day. Ginger can be purchased from your local supermarket in the produce section.
