A healthy diet and balanced is one way to prevent and reduce high blood pressure and hypertension. The consumption of foods derived from vegetable (plant) and a diet high in fruits is closely associated with low blood pressure.

Foods For Lowering High Blood Pressure :

Oranges :
Vitamin C can help expand constricted arteries, helping lower blood pressure. So go ahead and stock up on oranges, grapefruits, kiwis and strawberries. Or toss some bell peppers or red cabbage into your salad. Potatoes also contain vitamin C.

Berries :
Berries are one of the most nutritious foods in the world because of the high content of fiber and antioxidants. Blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries are the types of berries that have a great ability to help lower blood pressure, thanks to fiber content, vitamin C, potassium, and other plant compounds.

Vegetables :
As mentioned already, an individual diagnosed with hypertension should have ample amounts of vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, tomato, potato and carrot. They contain a high percentage of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, which help in maintaining the blood pressure within the recommended range.

Black Beans :
Black bean can work like a magic potion to regulate blood sugar and lowers blood cholesterol levels, both of which contribute to maintaining blood pressure remained within normal conditions.
Black beans are a source of fiber and magnesium solids, which are essential for maintaining healthy pressure.

Fish :
The Omega-3 fatty acids in fish help relax blood vessels and protect against effects of high blood pressure and reduce inflammation. Avoid mercury-containing fish, and go for low-mercury types like anchovies, Arctic char, Pacific flounder, herring, tilapia, wild Alaska and Pacific salmon, striped bass and sturgeon.
